- Describe the revenue drivers you currently include in your business concept for this class. Revenue drivers are the different ways you make money.
- My revenue drivers would be the summer job I always have at home, and any support that I may as from my parents or additional family members.
- Describe what kind of product offering you believe should be next. What's the next thing your customers want?
- I feel like the next thing my customers would want is a way to check the availability in the library without actually having to go to the library, so potentially an app that they can check on their phone.
- Describe how this "next" thing will enhance your existing product/service offering. Does it improve the user experience, does it increase customer switching costs, does it foster customer loyalty, etc.?
- This next thing will enhance my existing service offering by making the experience much more convenient for the users. Rather than going all the way to the library to see that they are full, they will simply be able to check their phone. It will improve the user experience and would probably increase customer switching costs.
- Go to Amazon and try to find a product that is similar to the one you want to offer next. Describe the product. Include a picture of the product.
- I had trouble finding this, so the only thing I could think of that would work is a smartphone, since in order to use the app a person would have to have a smartphone.
- What are the customer reviews for the product? What, exactly, do customers not like about the product? What do they like about it?
- Most people, such as younger people, like smartphones because of everything you can do on them and because of how fast they work. However, older generations don't necessarily care for them as much because they find them too complicated to use.
- Describe what design/usability changes you'd make to the product.
- I would make the product easy enough to use that every generation would benefit from the change.
- Describe why you think this product would make a good addition to your current product/service offering.
- This change would be good that way every person knows what the availability is or is not at a library. My goal is to start in universities, but then to make it something that libraries across the country use.

Your idea is very intriguing, Stefanie. I agree with you that people want to check availability of books, magazines, journals, etc. before they go to the library, only to see that they are all rented out. Creating an app would be the perfect way to fix this problem. Great work. View my post here- http://mudine.blogspot.com/2016/03/amazon-whisperer.html
ReplyDeleteHey there Stefanie!
ReplyDeleteI found your post to be very enlightening and interesting. Anything to do with technology is going to be interesting to viewers and definitely catch their eye! I agree that it is often hard to find the availability of some reading source and would totally use your app if it was created. Thanks for sharing!
